Leanne Louch and Daniel Soundy receive Captain’s Corner Award

At Notts County, our Captain’s Corner award celebrates the everyday heroes who go above and beyond in their communities—those whose kindness and selfless acts make a lasting difference. For our final Notts County league game of the season at Meadow Lane, we were incredibly proud to honour two outstanding individuals from the baby loss charity Forever Stars: Leanne Louch and Daniel Soundy.

Leanne has been a devoted volunteer with Forever Stars for many years. After her own personal experiences, Leanne became a passionate advocate for parents navigating the pain of baby loss. She leads the charity’s Embrace group—supporting those who have not gone on to have children—and offers a compassionate ear and strong community to others facing grief.

Her dedication doesn’t stop there. Leanne also works for East Midlands Railway and regularly fundraises for Forever Stars at Nottingham Station, even making bacon and sausage cobs for train drivers to help raise money—always going the extra mile to make a difference.

A lifelong Notts County supporter, Leanne’s connection to the club runs deep, and this recognition meant the world to her and her family.

Joining Leanne in the spotlight was Daniel Soundy, another advocate of the Forever Stars community. Daniel is the Captain of Forever Stars FC, a role that reflects both his leadership on the pitch and his dedication off it. He is a tireless fundraiser and a positive driving force for the charity—rallying support, raising awareness, and using football to connect people affected by baby loss.

Daniel’s passion for the cause and his commitment to supporting others through sport exemplify what Captain’s Corner is all about.

To mark their achievements, we were proud to present Leanne and Daniel with a Captain’s Corner certificate each, and invite them—and their families—to enjoy a special hospitality experience at Meadow Lane during the final league game of the season: Notts County vs Doncaster Rovers.

”It was an absolute privilege to welcome Leanne, Daniel, and their families to Meadow Lane for this special Captain’s Corner presentation. Their dedication to supporting others through Forever Stars is inspiring, and it was clear how much this meant to them.

Celebrating people like Leanne and Daniel is exactly what Captain’s Corner is all about—they’re the heart of their community, and we’re honoured to shine a light on their incredible work.”— Josh Wing, Marketing and Events Coordinator at Notts County Foundation

Before kick-off, the award winners had the opportunity for a pitch-side photo with midfielder Matty Palmer, creating a moment they’ll never forget.
