Last Thursday, Meadow Lane opened its doors overnight to host the CEO Sleepout Nottingham, an inspiring annual event that brings together business leaders from across the city to join the fight against homelessness.
A group of 50 dedicated and community-minded leaders swapped their warm beds for sleeping bags, in solidarity with people experiencing homelessness. Their aim was not just to raise funds, but to deepen understanding, spark meaningful conversations, and shine a spotlight on the challenges faced by some of the most vulnerable members of our community.

Thanks to their efforts and generosity, the event has already raised an impressive £33,000 – with fundraising still ongoing. This money will support a coalition of local charities delivering frontline services, including:
-
Emmanuel House Support Centre – providing vital shelter, advice, and support to people who are homeless, rough sleeping, or in crisis.
-
The Friary Drop-In – offering practical services such as hot food, clothing, health support, and pathways towards longer-term stability.
-
Notts County Foundation – delivering programmes that support wellbeing, inclusion, education, and community development across Nottingham.
-
Grace Enterprises / Half the Story – new to the CEO Sleepout this year, creating employment opportunities and providing support for individuals facing barriers to work.
Hosting the event at Meadow Lane reinforces Notts County Foundation’s commitment to being at the heart of the community and using the power of sport to create positive change.
“CEO Sleepout is more than a fundraiser – it’s a moment of unity, reflection, and action. Seeing local leaders come together with such compassion and determination was incredibly powerful. By spending one night outside, we hope to inspire many more conversations about homelessness and encourage people to support the organisations working tirelessly every day. We’re proud to host this event and proud to play our part in building a stronger, more inclusive Nottingham.” – Ajay Sharma, CEO at Notts County Foundation
The event concluded with a shared commitment to continuing the work long after the sleeping bags were packed away. The Foundation extends its thanks to every participant, volunteer, donor, and supporter who made the night a success. An extended thank you to Rapid Relief Team (RRT) for providing breakfast for all the participants.
The £33,000 raised will go directly towards services that help create brighter futures for individuals and families across Nottingham.
